An alphabetical index of the places named in the Pearl of Great Price text, as adjudicated by the roster census — each entry gives the first occurrence, the text’s words there, and a one-clause identification, and links a fuller page where one exists.

Basis: this roster is built from the capitalized-token census defined by scripts/data/census-scan-spec.md (sha256 ce404dd4386b) over the verse lines of the Pearl of Great Price — 383 candidate types, of which 101 were machine-dropped as sentence-initial-only (the classifier flagged 105; 4 were rescued into the census by hand) and the rest adjudicated by hand (the person/place filter is lead judgment, never a script’s call); it yields the 57 place entries below, 0 of them by typed beyond-scan exemption for entities named without capitalization, which the scan cannot see by construction (94 person entries live on the companion roster); the separate header pass ran and found no header-only entities.

American continent

Articles of Faith 1:10 — “will be built upon the American continent” — the continent upon which Zion, the New Jerusalem, will be built.

Assyria

Moses 3:14 — “that which goeth toward the east of Assyria” — the land the third river goeth toward the east of.

Bethel

Abraham 2:20 — “unto a mountain on the east of Bethel” — the place Abraham pitched his tent east of, with Hai on the east.

Cainan (the land)

Moses 6:41 — “I came out from the land of Cainan, the land of my fathers” — the land Enoch came out from, which he called the land of his fathers.

Canaan (the land)

Abraham 2:4 — “to go into the land of Canaan” — the land Abraham left Ur to go into.

Chaldea

Abraham 1:8 — “the altar which was built in the land of Chaldea” — the land in which the altar stood for the offering unto the strange gods.

Chenango

Joseph Smith—History 1:56 — “who lived in Chenango county” — the county in New York where Josiah Stoal lived.

Eden

Moses 3:8 — “planted a garden eastward in Eden” — the place eastward in which the Lord God planted a garden, and put the man he had formed.

Egypt

Abraham 1:6 — “king of Egypt” — the land of which Pharaoh was king.

Enoch (the land)

Moses 7:9 — “the land of Enoch” — one of the lands Enoch beheld when the Lord bade him look.

Ethiopia

Moses 3:13 — “the same that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia” — the land the second river compasseth.

Euphrates

Moses 3:14 — “the fourth river was the Euphrates” — the fourth river.

Gihon

Moses 3:13 — “the name of the second river was called Gihon” — the second river.

Hai

Abraham 2:20 — “and Hai on the east” — the place on the east, over against Bethel.

Hanannihah

Moses 7:9 — “the land of Hanannihah” — one of the lands Enoch beheld when the Lord bade him look.

Haner

Moses 7:9 — “the land of Haner” — one of the lands Enoch beheld when the Lord bade him look.

Haran (the land)

Abraham 2:4 — “the land which we denominated Haran” — the land Abraham’s company denominated Haran, where his father tarried.

Joseph Smith—History 1:56 — “opened by the Spaniards in Harmony” — the place in Susquehanna county where the silver mine was said to have been opened.

Havilah

Moses 3:11 — “it compasseth the whole land of Havilah” — the land the first river compasseth.

Heni

Moses 7:9 — “the land of Heni” — one of the lands Enoch beheld when the Lord bade him look.

Moses 3:14 — “the name of the third river was Hiddekel” — the third river.

Abraham 2:16 — “by the way of Jershon” — the way by which Abraham’s company journeyed from Haran.

Joseph Smith—Matthew 1:12 — “concerning the destruction of Jerusalem” — the city whose destruction Daniel’s words concerned.

Joseph Smith—Matthew 1:13 — “Then let them who are in Judea flee into the mountains” — the region whose inhabitants are told to flee into the mountains.

Abraham 3:13 — “Kokaubeam, which signifies stars, or all the great lights” — the name for the stars, or all the great lights which were in the firmament of heaven.

Kokob

Abraham 3:13 — “Kokob, which is star” — the name for star.

Kolob

Abraham 3:3 — “the name of the great one is Kolob” — the great one of the governing ones, which is near unto the Lord.

Mahujah

Moses 7:2 — “stood upon the place Mahujah” — the place upon which Enoch stood and cried unto the Lord.

Manchester

Joseph Smith—History 1:3 — “moved with his family into Manchester” — the town in Ontario county into which the family moved.

Moreh

Abraham 2:18 — “it was situated in the plains of Moreh” — the plains in which the place of Sechem was situated.

Mount of Olives

Joseph Smith—Matthew 1:4 — “went upon the Mount of Olives” — the mount upon which Jesus sat when the disciples came to him.

Moses 7:62 — “it shall be called Zion, a New Jerusalem” — the city the Lord’s tabernacle shall be called, for his people gathered out of the four quarters of the earth.
