Nephi's stated scripture-application method at both ends of his Isaiah usage: announced at the first Isaiah reading (1 Nephi 19:23) and reaffirmed at the head of the long Isaiah block (2 Nephi 11:2; cf. 11:8). Distinct from 2ne-jacob-liken, which registers Jacob's use of the idiom at 2 Nephi 6:5.
