The naming rule at 27:7-8 re-runs the ownership claim the Lord gave the elder Alma in the discipline revelation. The Lord reasons that a church bears the name of whoever it is called after -- 'if a church be called in Moses' name then it be Moses' church… but if it be called in my name then it is my church' (27:8) -- landing on the possessive the discipline charter had already stated: 'For behold, this is my church' (Mosiah 26:22). The two phrase-forms are distinct and each distinctive: 'it is my church' occurs only at 3 Nephi 27:8, and 'this is my church' occurs at exactly two points corpus-wide, Mosiah 26:22 and Mosiah 27:13. This record therefore does NOT alter the two-point count in mos-church-this-is-my-church (Mosiah 26:22 <-> Mosiah 27:13); that record tracks a different phrase-form and its count stands. What 27:8 adds is a condition Mosiah did not state: a rightly named church must also be 'built upon my gospel', a test the discourse states four times (27:8, 27:9, 27:10, 27:11; 'built upon my gospel' is corpus-first, occurring only in 3 Nephi 27). 27:11 closes the negative case -- a church 'built upon the works of men, or upon the works of the devil' is 'hewn down and cast into the fire' -- extending the hewn-down judgment formula (14:19; 27:11, 17) treated elsewhere in the build; noted, not registered here. Chain pointer: this record extends the 'this is my church' chain forward to 3 Nephi 27:8; the earlier record mos-church-this-is-my-church (Mosiah 26:22 <-> Mosiah 27:13) stays untouched, its exactly-two-point count correct as scoped (it tracks 'this is my church'; this record tracks the sister form 'it is my church').
