Ether 2:9 · 2 Nephi 1:7
This connection's citations are checked against the source text.
The mark sits beside every quote a connection carries. It reports one thing: those words were found in the frozen source text at the reference this page cites, allowing only typographic differences such as curly quotes, dash forms and spacing.
It is not a tier signal, and it is not a judgment about the connection. Where a card carries the Interpretive badge, the reading is still offered with its evidence for you to weigh — the mark speaks only to the citations.
The badges and the mark are separate signals: Textual and Interpretive name the kind of claim a connection makes, while the mark reports that the connection's citations were checked.
Ether 2:9 states the serve-or-be-swept-off decree self-contained; the same passage restates it at 2:8, 2:10, and 2:12, and the Jaredite record restates it again at 9:20. Far end is Lehi's conditional land-covenant (2 Nephi 1:7), whose own registered pairing is 2ne-land-liberty (2 Nephi 1:7 <-> 2 Nephi 10:11); this is a distinct verse-pair from eth-pl-god-of-the-land (Ether 2:12 <-> 2 Nephi 1:7). The decree binds 'whatsoever nation' - shown here predating Lehi by a full civilization. 'swept off' occurs as the decree-verb at Ether 2:8, 2:9, 2:10; the war-narrative's own sweep-diction (14:18 'sweepeth the earth', 14:27 'swept off the inhabitants') is a separate, military sense. The land-superlative 'above all other lands' recurs across the Jaredite account at Ether 2:7, 2:10, 2:15, 9:20, 13:2. The decree executed = the extinction (14:25 'the Lord did visit them in the fulness of his wrath'; 15:2 'nearly two millions'); read as the type of the Nephite end at jaredites.md eth-jar-extinction-type.
