The narrator cites Alma's testament by name and in substance, then certifies that the embargo held: 6:26 answers the question Alma 37 left open — 'those secret oaths and covenants did not come forth unto Gadianton from the records which were delivered unto Helaman; but behold, they were put into the heart of Gadianton by that same being…' So the oaths' source is the devil, not the withheld Jaredite records.
