The Lord's verdict to Mormon after his refusal to lead -- 'Vengeance is mine, and I will repay' (Mormon 3:15, the voice of the Lord at 3:14) -- returns in Moroni's close as a scriptural citation: 'judgment is mine, saith the Lord, and vengeance is mine also, and I will repay' (Mormon 8:20). Shared distinctive core: 'vengeance is mine' + 'I will repay'. The phrase 'vengeance is mine' occurs at exactly two verses in the record -- Mormon 3:15 and Mormon 8:20 -- and, corpus-wide, at Romans 12:19 ('Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord').
