Book of Mormon Moroni 7:1
"the words of my father Mormon, which he spake concerning faith, hope, and charity"
Book of Mormon Ether 12:28
"faith, hope and charity bringeth unto me—the fountain of all righteousness"

Ether 12:28 is the one-line abstract of the whole triad -- the Lord's words to Moroni, set down by Moroni in the Jaredite record: 'faith, hope and charity bringeth unto me—the fountain of all righteousness.' Moroni 7 (his father Mormon's sermon, transcribed by Moroni) is the full exposition, and Moroni 10:20-21 restates the chain in Moroni's own voice. The near-end is Moroni 7:1 -- the ONLY verse of the chapter that lists the whole triad as a contiguous set AND frames the chapter as its treatment ('the words of my father Mormon, which he spake concerning faith, hope, and charity'). Candidate 7:44 was rejected: it states the triad RELATIONALLY (faith -> hope -> charity as a dependency chain, 'he must needs have charity') but never as a coined list. The type is paraphrase, not shared-phrasing: the record does NOT rest on rarity of the triad-phrase. The contiguous triad list is a RECURRING formula at NINE corpus verses -- Alma 7:24 ('faith, hope, and charity'); Ether 12:28 ('faith, hope and charity', no Oxford comma); Moroni 7:1 ('faith, hope, and charity'); 1 Corinthians 13:13 ('faith, hope, charity', conjunction dropped); Moroni 8:14 ('neither faith, hope, nor charity', the negated form); and four in the Doctrine and Covenants -- D&C 4:5 ('faith, hope, charity and love'), 6:19 ('faith, hope and charity'), 12:8 and 18:19 (both 'faith, hope, and charity'). Recounted 2026-08-10 at the D&C freeze; nine carriers rather than five makes the phrase less rare still, which is the direction this record's reasoning already runs. So the load-bearing claim is the ABSTRACT-to-EXPOSITION relationship, not a coined phrase. Both quotes are verbatim contiguous runs from their own verse; they do NOT share a verbatim run (comma variance and different tails). Cross-linked: eth-faith-definition (Ether 12:6 <-> Alma 32:21, hosted on alma-the-younger.md) -- Moroni's faith DEFINITION, of which this triad is the fuller frame.
