Mosiah 4:23 · 2 Nephi 9:30
This connection's citations are checked against the source text.
The mark sits beside every quote a connection carries. It reports one thing: those words were found in the frozen source text at the reference this page cites, allowing only typographic differences such as curly quotes, dash forms and spacing.
It is not a tier signal, and it is not a judgment about the connection. Where a card carries the Interpretive badge, the reading is still offered with its evidence for you to weigh — the mark speaks only to the citations.
The badges and the mark are separate signals: Textual and Interpretive name the kind of claim a connection makes, while the mark reports that the connection's citations were checked.
Double contact between the two wo's on the rich: (1) 'rich as to the things of the world' / 'rich as pertaining to the things of this world'; (2) possession-perishes-with-owner ('their treasure shall perish with them' / 'his substance shall perish with him'). Neither element is unique: 'things of the world' runs through nineteen verses across the frozen corpus (recounted 2026-08-10 at the D&C freeze, D&C 1:19 and 35:13 the added carriers) (4 Nephi 1:24, Alma 32:3-4 and others in the record; 1 Corinthians 1:27-28, 7:34 in the New Testament), and the rich-as construction recurs at the far end here — 2 Nephi 9:30 IS 'rich as to the things of the world'; 'perish with' appears at nine record verses with mixed objects — persons (1 Nephi 7:15; Mosiah 19:12, 19:19) and not-persons (Mosiah 21:17 'perish with hunger', and the possessions of these two wo's). What remains distinctive is the co-occurrence of BOTH contacts in a single wo — rich-as-the-things-of-the-world and possession-perishing-with-its-owner — shared by just these two sermons. Neither sermon cites the other. Different pairing from jac-riches-despise (which uses 9:30's persecute-clause against Jacob 2:13).
