Alma 42 is an explicit exposition of this Eden account (Alma 12:21 asks after 'the scripture … which saith that God placed cherubim and a flaming sword on the east of the garden of Eden'). The same scene's companion clause pairs Moses 4:28 'lest he put forth his hand and partake also of the tree of life, and eat and live forever' with Alma 42:3 'lest he should put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat and live forever' (also Alma 42:5, Alma 12:21).
