The fortunate-fall doctrine, taught in near-mirror terms: without the transgression, no seed/children, no joy, no knowledge of good and evil. Eve states it as confession (Moses 5:11; cf. Adam at Moses 5:10 'because of my transgression… I shall have joy'); Lehi states it as argument from 'opposition in all things' (2 Nephi 2:11), reaching 'Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy' (2 Nephi 2:25). Interpretive, not textual: the two share the doctrine and the terms transgression/seed/joy but no distinctive phrase, and the Book of Mormon nowhere marks Lehi's teaching as drawn from this account.
