2 Nephi 9:26 · Revelation 20:14
This connection's citations are checked against the source text.
The mark sits beside every quote a connection carries. It reports one thing: those words were found in the frozen source text at the reference this page cites, allowing only typographic differences such as curly quotes, dash forms and spacing.
It is not a tier signal, and it is not a judgment about the connection. Where a card carries the Interpretive badge, the reading is still offered with its evidence for you to weigh — the mark speaks only to the citations.
The badges and the mark are separate signals: Textual and Interpretive name the kind of claim a connection makes, while the mark reports that the connection's citations were checked.
Both verses set the same three terms in one sentence: death, hell, and the lake of fire. 'lake of fire and brimstone' stands at exactly eleven verses in the corpus (recounted 2026-08-10 at the D&C freeze) — 2 Nephi 9:16, 9:19, 9:26, 28:23, Jacob 3:11, 6:10, Mosiah 3:27, Alma 12:17, 14:14, Revelation 20:10, and D&C 76:36 — nine Book of Mormon, one Revelation and one Doctrine and Covenants, and nowhere else in the Bible. Widening to 'lake of fire' in any form adds only Revelation 19:20, 20:14, 20:15; the image reaches three works in the corpus, the Book of Mormon, Revelation and the Doctrine and Covenants, so the two-work confinement this record reported no longer holds. Variants reported, not scored: in Jacob's sentence the saints are delivered FROM the lake, in Revelation death and hell are cast INTO it; Jacob glosses it 'which is endless torment', Revelation glosses it 'This is the second death.' The corpus gives no account of the parallel; origin outside this wiki's scope. Class (c). asserted_by wiki. (Distinct from the existing intra-corpus record 2ne-atone-monster, which pairs 2 Nephi 9:26 with 2 Nephi 28:23.)
