✦This connection's citations are checked against the source text.
The mark ✦sits beside every quote a connection carries. It reports one
thing: those words were found in the frozen source text at the reference this page cites,
allowing only typographic differences such as curly quotes, dash forms and spacing.
It is not a tier signal, and it is not a judgment about the connection. Where a card
carries the Interpretive badge, the reading is still offered with its evidence for you to
weigh — the mark speaks only to the citations.
The badges and the mark are separate signals: Textual and
⚖️ Interpretive name the kind of claim a connection
makes, while the mark ✦reports that the connection's citations were
checked.
Doctrine and Covenants D&C 13:1
✦"Upon you my fellow servants, in the name of Messiah I confer the Priesthood of Aaron, which holds the keys of the ministering of angels, and of the gospel of repentance, and of baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; and this shall never be taken again from the earth, until the sons of Levi do offer again an offering unto the Lord in righteousness."
Pearl of Great Price Joseph Smith—History 1:69

Shared words: Upon you my fellow servants, in the name of Messiah I confer the Priesthood of Aaron, which holds the keys of the ministering of angels, and of the gospel of repentance, and of baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; and this shall never be taken again from the earth, until the sons of Levi do offer again an offering unto the Lord in righteousness
No word differs across the whole sentence. The only divergences are two commas: the narrative reads 'in the name of Messiah, I confer' where the section has none, and the section reads 'from the earth, until the sons of Levi' where the narrative has none. Frames differ: the narrative names the speaker two verses later (Joseph Smith—History 1:72), the section supplies no speaker.
