Divergences: the epistle reads 'quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword' (three coordinated terms, 'any', 'twoedged' as one word) where the revelation reads 'quick and powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword'; the epistle divides 'soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow', the revelation 'both joints and marrow' only; the epistle's discerner clause has no counterpart here. That clause does appear in a later section carrying the same opening — D&C 33:1, 'soul and spirit; and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart' — which stands nearer the epistle than any section in this range. The revelation's own opening repeats verbatim at D&C 11:2, 12:2, 14:2.
