Divergences: the gospel identifies the rock in the same breath with a man addressed by name, which the revelation's verse does not do; and the revelation makes the promise conditional ('if ye continue') where the gospel states it flatly. 'upon this rock I will build my church' stands at exactly three frozen verses: these two and D&C 128:10, where the revelation cites Matthew 16:18-19 by chapter and verse (registered as its own source-asserted pairs, w7-dc128-peter-rock-matt16 and w7-dc128-keys-bind-matt16).
