Divergences: the epistle's garment is singular, the revelation's plural; the epistle spots it 'by the flesh', the revelation 'with the flesh'; the epistle's fire is something others are pulled out of, the revelation's something the hearers are told to come out of themselves. This one modern verse thus stands beside two different source verses at once — Acts 2:40 for its first half, Jude 1:23 for its second.
