3 Nephi 18:10 · 2 Nephi 31:14
This connection's citations are checked against the source text.
The mark sits beside every quote a connection carries. It reports one thing: those words were found in the frozen source text at the reference this page cites, allowing only typographic differences such as curly quotes, dash forms and spacing.
It is not a tier signal, and it is not a judgment about the connection. Where a card carries the Interpretive badge, the reading is still offered with its evidence for you to weigh — the mark speaks only to the citations.
The badges and the mark are separate signals: Textual and Interpretive name the kind of claim a connection makes, while the mark reports that the connection's citations were checked.
The sacrament instituted in the doctrine's own covenant-witness grammar. 18:10's 'this doth witness unto the Father that ye are willing to do that which I have commanded you' shares the contiguous string 'unto the Father that ye are willing to' with 2 Nephi 31:14's baptism-witness ('witnessed unto the Father that ye are willing to keep my commandments'). The sacrament thus witnesses what baptism witnesses -- willingness to keep the Lord's commandments, unto the Father -- the same parallel the page's baptism record mos-doc-baptism-witness draws for baptism (Mosiah 18:10 <-> 2 Nephi 31:14). The exact base form 'witness unto the Father' occurs only at 3 Nephi 18:10-11; the doctrine's forms are inflected -- 'witnesseth' (31:7), 'witnessing' (31:13), 'witnessed' (31:14). The remembrance-witness of 18:7/18:11 ('witness unto the Father that ye do always remember me') is the sacrament's own second clause. The sacrament-institution material (18:1-14) is hosted on doctrine-of-christ.md; the witness-grammar link is itself a doctrine-of-Christ point.
