The sermon warned against laying up earthly 'treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and thieves break through and steal' (13:19); at 27:32 the Lord grieves that the fourth generation 'will sell me for silver and for gold, and for that which moth doth corrupt and which thieves can break through and steal' -- the very corruptible wealth the sermon named as worthless is the price for which they trade the Messiah himself. Distinctive anchor within the record: the cluster 'break through' + 'steal' occurs at 3 Nephi 13:19, 13:20, and 27:32 -- confined to the sermon and this echo; corpus-wide the Sermon's Old-World parallel Matthew 6:19-20 carries the same 'thieves break through and steal' cluster.
