3 Nephi 10:16 · 1 Nephi 19:10
This connection's citations are checked against the source text.
The mark sits beside every quote a connection carries. It reports one thing: those words were found in the frozen source text at the reference this page cites, allowing only typographic differences such as curly quotes, dash forms and spacing.
It is not a tier signal, and it is not a judgment about the connection. Where a card carries the Interpretive badge, the reading is still offered with its evidence for you to weigh — the mark speaks only to the citations.
The badges and the mark are separate signals: Textual and Interpretive name the kind of claim a connection makes, while the mark reports that the connection's citations were checked.
The in-text fulfillment audit. After the destruction, the narrator commands 'whoso readeth, let him understand; he that hath the scriptures, let him search them, and see and behold if all these deaths and destructions by fire, and by smoke, and by tempests, and by whirlwinds, and by the opening of the earth to receive them… are not unto the fulfilling of the prophecies of many of the holy prophets' (3 Nephi 10:14), then NAMES the sources: 'the prophet Zenos did testify of these things, and also Zenock spake concerning these things' (10:16). This pairs with 1 Nephi 19:10, where Nephi first cited both Zenock and Zenos (with Neum) for these exact death-signs -- the corpus citing its own named sources and, a book later, auditing the fulfillment against them by name. Shared element: the joint attribution of the same named prophets (Zenos + Zenock), mirroring the shape of jac-zenos-named and alma-zenock-cited (both shared-phrasing). Supporting contact: the audit verse 10:14 re-runs Zenos's mode-list vocabulary -- 'by fire, and by smoke… and by the opening of the earth' echoes 1 Nephi 19:11's 'by fire, and by smoke… and by the opening of the earth' ('the opening of the earth' is a verbatim shared phrase) -- so 10:14 restates the modes and 10:16 names their prophet. 10:16 credits BOTH Zenos and Zenock with testifying of the destruction, but the corpus preserves Zenos's destruction-prophecy (1 Nephi 19:11-12) and no comparable Zenock destruction-text -- Zenock's only quoted words in the corpus (Alma 33:16) concern mercy 'because of thy Son', not the signs; recorded as a citation gap, consistent with this page's Zenock/Ezias treatment. DISTINCT from alma-zenock-cited (also far-end 1 Nephi 19:10) by near-end (3 Nephi 10:16 vs Alma 33:16) and function (fulfillment-audit vs Alma's proof-text).
