The Lord names the sealed revelations of 'my servant John' (Ether 4:16); the angel's vision commissions an apostle who 'shall see and write the remainder of these things' (1 Nephi 14:21) and names him at 14:27 ('the name of the apostle of the Lamb was John'). The two ends share no wording beyond the proper name John. That Ether's John and the vision's John are the same figure, and Ether's sealed revelations the writing 1 Nephi 14 predicts, is the wiki's identification — offered to weigh, not asserted as settled.
