The full sword-of-justice image — the sword hanging over a people and then falling upon them — occurred at only these two loci before 3 Nephi (a third, first-person leg lands at 3 Nephi 20:20 - see 3ne-samuel-sword-of-justice-fathers-warning) ('sword of justice' occurs at Alma 60:29 and Helaman 13:5 only). Captain Moroni's military epistle-threat to the Nephite government becomes, in Samuel's mouth, a prophetic sentence on the whole people. Divergences: Moroni's 'doth hang over you' / 'shall fall upon you' vs. Samuel's 'hangeth over this people' / 'falleth upon this people' (second/third person; future vs. present-with-a-deadline). Distinct to Samuel is the appended 'four hundred years pass not away save' — a fixed span. That 'four hundred years' span matches Alma 45:10's sealed extinction prophecy ('in four hundred years from the time that Jesus Christ shall manifest himself unto them, shall dwindle in unbelief') — but these are two INDEPENDENT utterances of the same span, NEITHER fulfilled in Helaman (Samuel re-utters at 13:9). The four-hundred-year clock is read out on its own legs at morm-samuel-four-hundred-years (Mormon 8:6 <-> Helaman 13:5, samuel-the-lamanite.md -- NOT routed through this sword-phrase record); the narrator's named-fulfillment stamp is morm-samuel-named-fulfillment (Mormon 1:19). The extinction-prophecy record is alma-extinction-dwindle (Alma 45:11 ↔ 1 Nephi 12:19) — referenced as related, NOT attached here as fulfillment. The Father's latter-day warning re-runs the hang-then-fall sentence at 3 Nephi 20:20 (record 3ne-samuel-sword-of-justice-fathers-warning), and Mormon's reader-address carries the image on at 3 Nephi 29:4 ('the sword of his justice is in his right hand').
