Mormon 9:14 · 2 Nephi 9:16
This connection's citations are checked against the source text.
The mark sits beside every quote a connection carries. It reports one thing: those words were found in the frozen source text at the reference this page cites, allowing only typographic differences such as curly quotes, dash forms and spacing.
It is not a tier signal, and it is not a judgment about the connection. Where a card carries the Interpretive badge, the reading is still offered with its evidence for you to weigh — the mark speaks only to the citations.
The badges and the mark are separate signals: Textual and Interpretive name the kind of claim a connection makes, while the mark reports that the connection's citations were checked.
The righteous-still / filthy-still doublet is shared verbatim in its predicates ('righteous shall be righteous still,' 'filthy shall be filthy still'); within the record the only two verses carrying the predicate-still judgment-finality family are 2 Ne 9:16 and Mormon 9:14; corpus-wide the frozen Revelation 22:11 carries the same family ('He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still' — the filthy leg included). It is no longer the family's only out-of-record carrier: D&C 88:35 ('they must remain filthy still') and D&C 88:102 ('who shall remain filthy still') carry the filthy leg as well, bringing 'filthy still' to five corpus verses (recounted 2026-08-10 at the D&C freeze). The record-scoped two-verse claim is unmoved, and 'righteous still' stays at three. Mormon 9:14 EXTENDS the doublet with two legs UNIQUE to it — 'he that is happy shall be happy still; and he that is unhappy shall be unhappy still' (textual variant fact; appears nowhere else). Framing difference: 2 Ne 9:16 attaches the doublet to 'the devil and his angels… everlasting fire… lake of fire and brimstone'; Mormon 9:14 attaches it instead to 'the judgment of the Holy One'. 'lake of fire and brimstone' does not appear in the book of Mormon proper (Mormon 1-9); it stands at nine verses in the record (2 Ne 9:16, 9:19, 9:26, 28:23; Jacob 3:11, 6:10; Mosiah 3:27; Alma 12:17, 14:14) and, corpus-wide, at Revelation 20:10 and D&C 76:36 (eleven in all; recounted 2026-08-10 at the D&C freeze) — so the lake formula remains a 2 Ne 9:16 feature the Mormon parallel does not reuse. The same verse 2 Ne 9:16 is also the far-end of mos-atone-everlasting-fire (↔ Mosiah 26:27) for its separate everlasting-fire clause ('they who are filthy are the devil and his angels; and they shall go away into everlasting fire') — different clause of the same rich verse.
