Moroni 4:3 · 2 Nephi 31:13
This connection's citations are checked against the source text.
The mark sits beside every quote a connection carries. It reports one thing: those words were found in the frozen source text at the reference this page cites, allowing only typographic differences such as curly quotes, dash forms and spacing.
It is not a tier signal, and it is not a judgment about the connection. Where a card carries the Interpretive badge, the reading is still offered with its evidence for you to weigh — the mark speaks only to the citations.
The badges and the mark are separate signals: Textual and Interpretive name the kind of claim a connection makes, while the mark reports that the connection's citations were checked.
The sacrament prayer's covenant clause repeats Nephi's baptismal-covenant wording. The carrying run is 'willing to take upon them the name of' / 'willing to take upon you the name of' — word-bounded, 'willing to take upon' stands at exactly five corpus verses (recounted 2026-08-10 at the D&C freeze): the two endpoints; one non-name object, 'willing to take upon them the kingdom' (Mosiah 29:3); and two in the Doctrine and Covenants — D&C 20:77, the sacrament prayer itself, which carries this record's carrying run word for word as 'willing to take upon them the name of thy Son', and D&C 20:37, which sets it in the baptism-intake requirement as 'willing to take upon them the name of Jesus Christ'. The shared clause at the two registered ends is unchanged as a textual fact, but the run is no longer near-confined to them, so this record rests on the endpoint relation rather than on the run's rarity. At the run the pronoun and the naming of the Son ('thy Son' / 'Christ') are the only differences; across the fuller clauses the verb form (witness/witnessing) and the Father's fuller title differ as well. Both verses set the clause in a witness-to-the-Father frame, which the wine prayer carries verbatim too (Moroni 5:2) — the frame accompanies rather than carries the pairing. Sits beside mos-doc-take-name (Mosiah 5:8 <-> 2 Nephi 31:13) and the prayer's institution pairing moro-sac-prayers-institution (Moroni 4:3 <-> 3 Nephi 18:10).
