Writing his last epistle to his son (Moroni 9, preserved by Moroni), Mormon names the Jaredites as the pattern the Nephites will die by: 'if they perish it will be like unto the Jaredites, because of the wilfulness of their hearts, seeking for blood and revenge' (Moroni 9:23). Far end is Ether 15:2 -- the register's standing far end for the Jaredite extinction -- which carries the scale and Coriantumr's realization: 'He saw that there had been slain by the sword already nearly two millions of his people, and he began to sorrow in his heart'. There is NO distinctive contiguous run spanning Moroni 9:23 and Ether 15:2. The whole textual link is Mormon's explicit reference by NAME -- 'like unto the Jaredites' -- an allusion (taxonomy tier 3), not a shared coined phrase (tier 2). Per register precedent (moro-fhc-miracles-unbelief: 'a pair with no distinctive shared run is typed paraphrase'; and eth-faith-litany-fire), a named allusion with no shared run is typed paraphrase. 'like unto the Jaredites' occurs at exactly ONE verse in the corpus -- Moroni 9:23 -- the only place a Nephite fate is named to the Jaredites. 'blood and revenge' occurs at two verses, both inside Mormon's epistle (Moroni 9:5 'thirst after blood and revenge continually'; 9:23 'seeking for blood and revenge').
