The Jaredite extinction ('nearly two millions' slain, Ether 15:2) can be read as the type of which the prophesied Nephite extinction (Alma 45:11) is the antitype: two nations swept off one land under the same serve-God-or-be-swept-off decree (Ether 2:8–12), the second explicitly warned by the recovered record of the first (Mosiah 28:18–19 — the account that 'did cause the people of Mosiah to mourn exceedingly'). The geographic seal is that both extinctions gather at one hill — Ramah for the Jaredites (Ether 15:11), Cumorah for the Nephites (Mormon 6:6) — registered separately as the Ramah=Cumorah identity on places-geography.md.
