Alma's sealed extinction prophecy read as arriving at Cumorah. Alma foretold the Nephites 'even until the people of Nephi shall become extinct' (Alma 45:11); Moroni closes the record narrating them hunted 'down from city to city and from place to place, even until they are no more' (Mormon 8:7). This is interpretive, NOT textual, for two reasons the text itself supplies: (1) no verse names Alma among prophets whose words are fulfilled -- the narrator's named-fulfillment list is 'even unto the fulfilling of all the words of Abinadi, and also Samuel the Lamanite' (Mormon 1:19), NOT Alma; (2) the report does not re-use the prophecy's signature word -- Alma said 'extinct', Moroni writes 'no more'. So the fulfillment-link is a reading, weighed not asserted. ROOTED IN alma-extinction-dwindle (Alma 45:11 <-> 1 Nephi 12:19) -- cited as its interpretive root, NOT as registered textual ground; this record adds the Mormon-side fulfillment leg the parent's note explicitly deferred. Support for the arrival: the Cumorah narrative -- gathering at 384 years (Mormon 6:5); 'my men were hewn down, yea, even my ten thousand who were with me' (Mormon 6:10); 'even all my people, save it were those twenty and four who were with me… had fallen' (Mormon 6:15) -- and Mormon 8:2 ('after the great and tremendous battle at Cumorah… the Nephites who had escaped into the country southward were hunted by the Lamanites, until they were all destroyed'). The four-hundred-year clock Alma set (Alma 45:10) is read out at Mormon 8:6 ('four hundred years have passed away'), handled on samuel-the-lamanite.md. The disciples' fine print (honest divergence, reported as textual fact, not smoothed): Alma exempted 'a few who shall be called the disciples of the Lord' from the general extinction but forecast 'them shall the Lamanites pursue even until they shall become extinct' (Alma 45:14); the record instead has them withdrawn -- 'the disciples of Jesus, who did tarry in the land until… the Lord would not suffer them to remain with the people' (Mormon 8:10) -- NOT narrated as pursued to extinction. Whether the disciples' own pursuit-clause is fulfilled the corpus does not say; left OPEN. The record passes to Moroni son of Mormon (a Cumorah survivor, Mormon 6:11; distinct from captain-moroni.md, the city Moroni, and Moronihah), who carries the plates into Ether and Moroni.
