Both name the plates of Nephi and both terminate the span at the reign of king Benjamin. Divergences: 'down even till you come to' for 'down to'; 'the reign of king Benjamin' for 'the reign of this king Benjamin'; and the direction of the act differs — the revelation commands a translation forward to that point, the preface describes an abridgment already made to that point.
