Word-for-word and mark-for-mark identical across the whole verse - and it is the singular 'heart' in both, where the Doctrine and Covenants' other carriers of the promise read the plural 'hearts of the fathers' at D&C 27:9 and D&C 110:15. The letter then concedes something about its own quotation before using it: 'I might have rendered a plainer translation to this, but it is sufficiently plain to suit my purpose as it stands'. The clause also stands verbatim at 3 Nephi 25:6, and Joseph Smith—History 1:39 carries a variant form, introduced there as quoted differently.
