Ether narrates the extinction's aftermath at close range — the war so swift that the dead went unburied — while the Nephite record summarizes the same aftermath from centuries later: 'their bones lay scattered in the land northward' (Omni 1:22, the same verse whose tower clause anchors `eth-jar-tower-origin`). The intervening prophecy is Ether 11:6, which foretold that 'their bones should become as heaps of earth upon the face of the land'; that verse pairs with Mosiah 8:8's bone-covered land (what Limhi's lost expedition discovered) on places-geography.md — x-ref, not registered here. `alma-mormon-ed-bone-land` (Alma 22:30 ↔ Mosiah 8:8) is the standing far end for the land the Nephites later named Desolation, 'of whose bones we have spoken'.
